Jack Gross was born in Gratz, PA in 1911. He graduated from the Harrisburg Academy and Lafayette College in Easton, PA and served in WWII. Gross was a charter life member of the Air Force Association and one of its most important leaders, and came to be known as "Man of the Year" by the Air Force Association. He retired after a combined 30 years in active and reserve service. Gross was a highly successful businessman in Harrisburg, with interests in art, real estate, and an auto dealership. Gross donated generously of his money, time and financial expertise to numerous causes in Pennsylvania and nationally.
An avid art collector, Jack Gross acquired paintings during his military service in Italy, and in New York galleries. The Art Association of Harrisburg was fortunate enough to receive Jack Gross's art collection as a bequest in his will when he died in 2006. We are making these pieces from the collection available to purchase. Each purchase will represent a gift from Jack Gross to the Art Association of Harrisburg.
